Ian Blake

Born in the (wonderful) City of Chester my first career choice was that of a journalist. I worked at a local paper in Newton-le-Willows. Despite having stories in ‘the nationals’ this was short lived and two years later I went to study theology in London. This eventually led me into being an ‘office holder’ in the church of England.

I then held posts in Chelmsford, Kettering, Nottingham, Cheam (Surrey), Carshalton, Thornton Heath and Boston (Lincs).

I’m married to Anne, have 2 children and 3 grandchildren and came to Barnard Castle when I took early retirement 5 years ago. I’m loving retirement and all the opportunities that living in Barney affords.
