Coroner Service

Nicholas Rheinburg.

I have been a coroner for thirty years. Until 2017 I was the senior coroner for Cheshire but following retirement I continue to sit in Devon, Wiltshire and Lancashire, principally hearing inquests into prison deaths. My talk will provide a brief history of the coroners’ service from its inception in 1194 followed by an account of a past investigation (as a warning slides will include skeletal remains).
