Cecilia Oliver – The Bowes Museum
I have been a Textile Conservator since 2015 and worked at the Bowes Museum for the past 5 years. My training at the University of Glasgow taught me all the basics of how to care for and support historic textiles but working at the Bowes Museum has opened up a whole behind the scenes world of museum care.
In this talk I will briefly describe my route into this career and then go on to outline the vast array of activities that go on out of the public eye at the museum, ranging from battles with moth to exhibition planning.
